Multiple reports have emerged suggesting the involvement of these actors in the project. Also indicated to be part of the project was music composer GV Prakash Kumar. A source close to the director told Silverscreen that the project was in its initial stages and it was too early to discuss it.

Barring Bindu Madhavi, Bala has worked with all three in the past. While Arya was part of the director’s Avan Ivan, Atharvaa played the lead role in his Paradesi. GV Prakash Kumar was the protagonist in Naachiyaar, the director’s last release.

Last weeks, reports emerged indicating that the director was in talks with Suriya for a project. The actor and director first worked together on Nanda that turned out to be a turning point in Suriya’s career. However, there were not any confirmations from either party.

Director Bala was in the news earlier this year when the producers of his film Varmaa, a remake of the Telugu hit Arjun Reddy, decided to reshoot the film with a different director. The movie, originally scheduled to release in February, was postponed to June.

A statement issued by the producers of the film read “We at E4 Entertainment are not at all happy with the final version handed over to us and due to various creative and other differences, we have decided not to release this version. Instead, we will start afresh and shoot a new Tamil version of Arjun Reddy with Dhruv as the main lead, by staying true to the soul and intention of the original.”

Bala has maintained that he chose to walk out of the film. The film has been rechristened Adithya Varma and is being shot by retaining lead actor Dhruv Vikram but with a different director and cast.
