After months of denying reports that he was suffering from health issues, Hollywood actor Val Kilmer has finally confirmed that he had been diagnosed with cancer. He also said he was now recovering. The actor revealed details of his current health condition to his fans during an online ‘Ask Me Anything’ (AMA) interaction on Reddit.com.
A fan asked the actor, “A while ago, Michael Douglas claimed you had terminal cancer. What was the story behind that?” to which Kilmer’s reply was, “He was probably trying to help me because press probably asked where I was these days, and I did have a healing of cancer, but my tongue is still swollen although healing all the time. Because I don’t sound my normal self yet people think I may still be under the weather.”
He was also asked if he would play Batman once again if he was asked, to which he said, “love to.”
The actor was at his witty best when he had answers like “I am cool as ice” and also said he could get “pretty silly” when he was asked how silly a person he could be. Kilmer played Batman in Batman Forever (1995).

Earlier in 2016, Kilmer had denied all reports regarding his health issues and had also said that his friend, actor Michael Douglas, could have been misinformed. “The last time I spoke to him (Douglas) was almost two years ago, when I asked him for a referral for a specialist to get a diagnosis for a lump in my throat, which prevented me from continuing a tour of my play Citizen Twain. I ended up using a team at UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles) and have no cancer whatsoever. I still have a swollen tongue and am rehabbing steadily,” he had said.
