The trailer of award winning director Majid Majidi’s Beyond The Clouds is out, giving us a peek into the world of Amir (played by Ishaan Khattar) and Tara (played by Malavika Mohanan).

The trailer opens with a boy talking about how he lost his parents and that he harbours the dream of making it big someday. We are transported to his seedy, drug-laden world of Mumbai. There is also his sister Tara. If Majidi’s Children of Heaven was about a young boy trying to get a new pair of shoes for his little sister, Beyond The Clouds is about adult siblings who always have each other’s back.
Tara gets jailed for attempt to murder and it is up to Amir to get the truth out.
While the film has been made by an Iranian filmmaker, the dialogues were written by Vishal Bhardwaj, the setting, and the music has some genuine local flavour to it. Music by AR Rahman, the background score is predictably emotional yet classy.
The film is slated for a 23 March release.
