Actress Bhanu Priya has denied allegations of harassment against Sandhya, the minor girl employed as domestic help at her home in Chennai.
A complaint was earlier filed against Bhanu Priya by the girl’s mother who said that her daughter had been harassed by the actor and her family for 14 months. She also suspected that Sandhya was sexually harassed by the actor’s brother.
Bhanu Priya spoke to the press, and said, “The girl is a 17-year-old, but they are saying that she is only 14, and they have wrongly complained that we abused the daughter.” When asked about allegations of not paying Sandhya her salary, the actor said that it was given on time, without any delay.
She further said Sandhya stole an i-pad, jewels and things worth Rs 1.5 lakh from their house. When asked to return the things, she told Prabhavathi that she was being harassed and made her file a false complaint.

Sandhya’s mother Prabhavathi recently filed the case at the Samalkota police, East Godavari district. She alleged that the actress did not pay her daughter the salary as promised, and did not allow them to speak. She further suspected that the actor’s elder brother Gopalakrishnan sexually harassed Sandhya, and said that the family threatened Prabhavathi.
She recently arrived in Chennai to meet her daughter, but was stopped by the security at the house. She says that Bhanu Priya asked her to pay Rs 10 lakh to relieve her daughter, and threatened that she may otherwise file a false complaint saying Sandhya had stolen things from the house.
In her complaint, Prabhavathi asks the police to take immediate action. She fears that her daughter’s life may be in danger.
