Taapsee Pannu, the actor who was last seen in the Netflix romantic thriller Haseen Dillruba, started shooting for her maiden production venture Blurr on Sunday. The film, directed by Ajay Bahl, also stars actor Gulshan Devaiah alongside Pannu.
Both Pannu and Devaiah shared pictures on social media from the first day of shoot in Nainital. According to reports, Blurr is the Hindi remake of Spanish film Julia’s Eyes, directed by Guille Morales.
The film revolves around a female character who is slowly losing her sight whilst investigating the death of her twin sister. Blurr is the second remake of a Spanish film Pannu is acting in, after Badla, a remake of The Invisible Guest.
Julia’s Eyes is also being remade in Bengali, Telugu, Tamil, and Marathi. The Bengali remake of the film has been titled Antardrishti, and stars actor Rituparna Sengupta. The shooting of the Marathi and the Bengali remakes began earlier this year in Uttarakhand. While the Marathi remake has been titled Adrushya. the Tamil and the Telugu remakes have been titled Un Paarvayil and Agochara, respectively.
Last week, Pannu launched her own production company named ‘Outsiders Films’ in partnership with former Sony Pictures Networks executive Pranjal Khandhdiya. Blurr is the first project from this production house. The film is being jointly produced by Outsiders Films, Zee Studios, and Echelon Production.
Khandhdiya has previously produced films such as Super 30, 83, Soorma, Piku, Mubarakan, Azhar and is also producing the upcoming film Rashmi Rocket, starring Pannu.

Apart from Rashmi Rocket, Pannu’s upcoming projects in Hindi include Looop Lapeta and Shabaash Mithu. Recently, it was announced that the actor is set to make her comeback in Telugu cinema with the upcoming film Mishan Impossible, written and directed by filmmaker Swaroop RSJ.
Meanwhile, Devaiah, who was last seen in Dibakar Banerjee’s segment in Ghost Stories will next be seen in Reema Kagti and Ruchika Oberoi’s web series, Fallen. The Amazon Prime Video series will also star Sonakshi Sinha and Vijay Varma.
