The Telugu dubbed version of Jilla has done surprisingly well at the box-office, despite releasing a year after the original Tamil version had been released. This marks actor Vijay’s first notable success in the Telugu industry. Jilla has broken even for the distributor in the opening weekend itself. Although several Vijay films have been dubbed and released in Telugu, none have reached this level of success. Directed by Neason, Jilla also stars Malayalam actor Mohanlal and Kajal Aggarwal.
Reportedly, Vijay’s Kaththi will be dubbed and released in Telugu as well. There had been speculations that Kaththi would be remade in Telugu, with NTR in the lead.
