Brothers Chiranjeevi And Pawan Kalyan To Team Up For The First Time

Telugu actors, politicians, and brothers Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan will be teaming up for the first time in a film directed by Trivikram Srinivas and produced by RT Subbarami Reddy. The film will feature both actors in the lead.

A statement was released by Reddy to confirm the casting. It read, “I felt that Trivikram is the best director to make this movie. [When] I met Trivikram for the second time at my residence, [we] finalised the movie. I am happy to announce that I will be producing this mega movie with the association of another great producer — C Ashwini Dutt.”

The joint casting has put rumours about a possible rift between the two to rest. Apart from being competitive colleagues in Telugu cinema, the two are also political rivals with Pawan Kalyan heading the Jana Sena Party and Chiranjeevi the Praja Rajyam Party, which later merged with the Congress.

Rumours of a rift had escalated after Kalyan failed to attend the audio launch of Chiranjeevi’s 150th film Khaidi No 150 due to his own film commitments.

Kalyan’s next film is Katamarayudu with Shruti Haasan. The film is a remake of the Tamil film Veeram which starred Ajith and Tamannaah Bhatia. It is slated to release on Ugadi. Chiranjeevi’s next is a biopic on the freedom fighter UN Reddy, and is directed by Surender Reddy.
