Actress Chandini Sasha will play the female lead in Thanneer. Directed by Vasanth, the film is adapted from writer Ashokamithran’s novel of the same name. The actress plays the role of a woman called Jamuna, and is hard at work learning Tamil for the project.

Popular for her Kannada films, Chandini is excited to be making her Tamil debut. Speaking to Silverscreen, she said, “I’ve always felt that a film career is incomplete if you haven’t acted in a Tamil movie. Now that Vasanth sir has given me this role, my life is complete. I will be going for Tamil classes for three months as Vasanth sir wants me to dub for myself.”
Chandini will be seen alongside Gulshan Grover in this project. Sudha Ragunathan composes music.
