Complaint Filed Against Actress Bhanupriya For Harassing Minor

A complaint has been filed against actress Bhanupriya for allegedly employing a minor girl as domestic help at her home in Chennai, and harassing her for nearly 14 months. The girl’s mother Prabhavathi, who hails from Andhra Pradesh, lodged the complaint with the Samalkota police, East Godavari district, when she was unable to get in touch with her daughter.

As per television reports, actress Bhanupriya employed Sandhya 16 months ago and brought her to Chennai. She promised Prabhavathi that Sandhya will be paid a salary of Rs 10,000 per month. However, according to Prabhavathi, Bhanupriya hasn’t paid even a month’s salary so far or allowed her to talk to her daughter in a long time. Prabhavathi recently arrived in Chennai to see her daughter, but was held back by the security personnel.

Reports also say that Prabhavathi suspects her daughter is a victim of sexual abuse perpetrated by Bhanupriya’s brother Gopalakrishnan and another relative, and that they are being threatened by Bhanupriya’s family. In her complaint, Prabhavathi requested the police to take immediate action as she fears her daughter life is in danger.
