According to latest reports, actors Daniel Balaji and Anand Raj have joined the sets of director Atlee’s Vijay-starrer Thalapathy 63.
Daniel, who was a part of Vijay’s Bairavaa, will reportedly be seen with long hair. Anand Raj has previously worked with Vijay in Pokkiri and Villu.
A source close to the film says, “It’s true that Daniel Balaji and Anand Raj are part of Thalapathy 63. The team is busy with shoot, so an official announcement may not come anytime soon.”
He also says we must wait for other details about the film and its cast and crew. The film has a big star cast with Nayanathara, Kathir, Vivekh, Yogi Babu and others. After a pooja on January 20, shoot for the film began.

In a press statement, the film’s producers said that Thalapathy 63 will be a “mass entertainer with superior technical crew and the best production values.”
Since the beginning of this year, news about Thalapathy 63 has been pouring in for Vijay fans to celebrate. On January 14, Atlee confirmed speculations about Nayanthara’s participation in the film. Vijay and Nayanthara had previously starred together in Prabhu Deva’s Villu. Nayanthara played the female lead in Atlee’s debut directorial Raja Rani.

Atlee also confirmed that actor Vivekh, Kathir and Yogi Babu would be part of the team. Vivekh has acted with Vijay in films like Youth and Aathi. Their last film together was Kuruvi, 10 years back. Actor Kathir of Pariyerum Perumal fame was recently seen in the Zee 5 original film Sigai that released this month. Yogi Babu, one of the busiest in Tamil cinema, acted in Ajith’s Viswasam. He played a supporting role in Vijay-Atlee’s Sarkar.
Produced by Archana Kalpathy under AGS Entertainment, Thalapathy 63 marks Vijay and Atlee’s third film after Theri and Mersal. The film was announced in November last year. Like Mersal and Sarkar, it is being planned as a Deepavali release.

Director Atlee had told Silverscreen, “The entertainment we will provide through the movie will be on another level. It is going to be made on a scale unlike what anyone has done before.” Sources suggest that Aalaporaan Tamizhan, a song from Mersal, is the title being considered.
A R Rahman is the composer for the film, Vivek is the lyricist. Atlee has also retained the Mersal team, with editor Antony Ruben, stunt director Anal Arasu and art director Muthuraj.
Reports say that 16 actresses have joined the film’s sets. Vijay is undergoing physical training for his role, rumoured to be that of a sports coach. A source close to the film says this cannot be confirmed yet.
