The official teaser of Dear Comrade released recently. Written and directed by Bharat Kamma, the film stars Vijay Deverakonda, Rashmika Mandanna and Shruti Ramachandran. Music is by Justin Prabhakaran, cinematography is by Sujith Sarang, and editing by Sreejith Sarang.
The one-minute teaser features two scenes in slow motion. Deverakonda is one of the students in a fight; he walks up a man to give him a solid punch, and in the same pace, the scene shifts to him kissing Rashmika in the rain. The mood remains the same, and the music throughout is romantic with Iswariya Ravichandran’s rendition of a song that talks of one’s longing.
It has been reported that Deverakonda plays a student leader in the film, and Rashmika is a State-level cricket player. Shruti Ramachandran is yet to be introduced in the promotions. The title of the film suggests a communist background to Deverakonda’s character.

A picture of Devarakonda in a worker’s uniform in Singareni mines has been doing the rounds on the Internet. It was reported that this picture was either from Dear Comrade or director Kranthi Madhav’s upcoming movie which also stars Raashi Khanna, Aishwarya Rajesh, and Izabelle De in the lead.
Dear Comrade is said to be inspired by the 2017 Malayalam movie Comrade in America, starring Dulquer Salman as the son of a Communist leader from Kerala. Y Naveen, Y Ravi Shankar and CV Mohan are producing the movie under the banner of Mythri Movie Makers.
