On Sunday, laying speculations to rest, Bollywood actors Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh announced their wedding, set to happen on November 14 and 15.

The couple shared a note on their respective social media profiles. The note read: “With the blessings of our families, it gives us immense joy in sharing that our wedding is set to take place on the 14th and 15th of November, 2018. We thank you for all the love you have showered upon us over the years and seek your blessings as we embark on this incredible journey of love, loyalty, friendship and togetherness.”

Deepika and Ranveer had been skating over questions about their wedding till a couple of weeks ago. At the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit though, when asked about it, Ranveer said: “You are seeing this every day, including details about the colour of my sherwani and wedding gifts. But, when there is something, you will be the first to know.” Deepika, on the other hand, dismissed the speculations with, “There have been many November weddings.”

While the note doesn’t reveal the location where the wedding is set to happen, there were rumours that no cell phones will be allowed at the venue. In August, a film magazine reported that the wedding will happen on November 20, and that a location in Italy was chosen as the venue, with only friends and family in attendance.

The couple, who have been seeing each other for close to five years, struck up a friendship on the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s action-romance Goliyon Ki Rasleela. They have been a part of three blockbuster films – Ram-Leela, Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat – all directed by Bhansali.

Many celebrities took to Twitter to wish the couple.

According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, “The couple will head for a brief honeymoon before Ranveer dives into the promotions of Simmba which opens on December 28.”

On the work front, Ranveer has Simmba, ’83 and Gully Boy while Deepika has the Meghna Gulzar-directed film in which she plays acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal.
