Out on bail in a rape case, Mahaakshay Chakraborty (Mimoh), son of Mithun Chakraborty, got married to his girlfriend Madalsa Sharma in Ooty on Tuesday.
Earlier it was reported that he was scheduled to get married on July 7, but the wedding was called off after the team investigating the rape allegations reached Mithun’s hotel in Ooty, where the wedding was supposed to place. The ceremony was cancelled and the bride’s family left the place. However, according to a report in The Times Of India, the couple had registered their marriage on July 7, while the traditional ceremony took place on Tuesday. The sangeet was held on Monday.
A few days back, Mahaakshay was slapped with rape charges by a Bhojpuri actress. An FIR was lodged against Mithun’s son, and his mother Yogita Bali. However, they were granted anticipatory bail by the Delhi High Court.
Special Judge Ashutosh Kumar had asked the mother-son to furnish a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh with two sureties of the like amount, reported IANS. The court further ordered them not to tamper with evidence or influence witnesses and cooperate with the investigation.

Meanwhile, the complainant’s lawyers Neeraj Gupta and Nisha Arora told The Times of India, “We are not at all happy with the court’s order. It is surprising how anticipatory bail has been granted at the very initial stage of the investigation. The accused are very much capable of affecting the investigation, the evidence and witnesses of the case. We will approach Delhi High Court against the said order.”
The complainant had alleged that Mimoh raped her for four years, cheated on her and also coerced her into an abortion. The woman also said that Mahaakshay’s mother Yogeeta Bali was equally responsible for their relationship to hit rock bottom. In her complaint she said that she was threatened by Yogeeta and her son and fearing her life, she moved from Mumbai to Delhi.
