Dhruv Vikram’s ‘Varmaa’ Release Postponed

Dhruv Vikram’s debut movie Varmaa, the remake of the Telugu hit Arjun Reddy, has been postponed due to a delay in getting clearance from the Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI). The movie was originally planned as a February 14 release, and will now be out by the end of March.

In addition to Varmaa, a few other film films are also awaiting clearance by the board. This situation has arisen because of the resignation of the AWBI president S.P. Gupta two days back.

Talking to Silverscreen, the producer of the movie Mukesh R Mehta said, “Yes, the movie will not be releasing on the planned date. The shifting of the AWBI office from Chennai to Chandigarh has also contributed to the delay in getting clearance from them. Also, we are yet to obtain certificate from censor board.”

“We think we’ll have clarity regarding the new release date within the next 10 days. We are hoping to get the movie out by the end of March,” he added.
