A Kerala court has extended actor Dileep’s judicial custody till August 22, in the Malayalam actress abduction case.
Indian Express reports that Dileep, who has been charged under Sections 376-G (gangrape), 366 (kidnapping), 212 (wrongful confinement), 120-b (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code, and remanded to custody on July 10, will be kept in custody for an additional two weeks.

An India Today report also says that the actor appearaed in the court today via video conferencing. He was subsequently wremanded to further custody.
Earlier, Silverscreen had reported that Dileep had been feeling unwell in jail, and that Malayalam cinema veterans Adoor Gopalakrishnan and others visited him. Thus far, these veterans have issued no public statement of support towards the actress who was abducted and sexually assaulted.
