Actor Vikram Prabhu plays a real-estate businessman in Vellakkara Durai. The actor, who has been doing action-oriented films like Ivan Vera Maathiri, Arima Nambi and Sigaram Thodu, tries comedy for the first time in this flick. In an interview to Deccan Chronicle, director Ezhil revealed that many in the industry were skeptical about roping in Vikram for the lead role. “A lot of people were not sure if Vikram Prabhu would suit this role. Now, after having completed most portions of the shoot, I am glad about the way Vikram Prabhu slipped into his role. His comic timing is impressive,” said Ezhil.
Vellakkara Durai, a rural comedy, features Sri Divya, Soori, John Vijay and MS Bhaskar. Imman composes music and the movie is likely to hit theatres in December.
