On Sundauy, director Vignesh Shivn announced that he will be writing the lyrics for a song in the Suriya starrer NGK. Directed by Selvaraghavan, NGK’s music is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. Vignesh Shivn had earlier directed Suriya’s Thaana Serndha Kootam.
Vignesh is not only a director but also a lyricist, and has written many hit songs for films like Poda Podi, Vanakkam Chennai, Virattu, Yennai Arindhaal, Maari, Naanum Rowdydhaan, Remo, Thaana Serndha Kootam, and Irumbu Thirai. Vignesh Shivan took to his official twitter handle to announce the news.

Recently, the film’s producer SR Prabhu announced on via twitter that the final leg shoot of the film will take place in November, as the team is waiting for Suriya to join them after the completion of Suriya37. He also said that release date will be announced later.

The film was earlier scheduled to release on Diwali, but the film’s production house announced the postponement. The film’s director, Selvaraghavan’s health was cited as one of the reason behind the delay. He had tweeted about a simple medical procedure he underwent and said that he would resume work in a couple of days. A source close to the director also said, “There are many scenes that are left to be canned. It is not possible to do all that in a couple of months.”
Pitched as a political thriller, NGK or Nandha Gopalan Kumaran will see Suriya playing the title character. Produced by S. R. Prabhu under the banner Dream Warrior Pictures, the film also stars Sai Pallavi and Rakul Preet Singh. While Bala Singh, Mansoor Ali Khan, Murali Sharma, Sampath Raj, Sarath Kumar and Jagapathi Babu play pivotal roles. The film marks the first collaboration of the director-actor duo. The music for the film is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
