Director Vijay will be directing the Tamil remake of the critically acclaimed Malayalam movie Shutter. The 2012 satirical thriller marked the debut of playwright Joy Mathew, and is about what happens when three men – a Malayali returning from the Middle East, a movie director and an auto driver – meet a woman in strange circumstances. It featured Lal, Sreenivasan, Vinay Forrt and Sajitha Madathil in lead roles.
Speaking about the project, Joy Matthew said, “We are waiting for Vijay to get back after his break to start work on this film. I have full confidence in his ability.” Vijay’s last release, Saivam, opened last week to wide critical acclaim.
