Disha Patani & Raashii Khanna Join Cast of ‘Yodha’

Actors Disha Patani and Rashii Khanna have joined the cast of the upcoming Hindi action film Yodha. The film also stars Sidharth Malhotra.

Karan Johar, who is backing the film under the Dharma Productions banner, made the announcement on social media on Saturday. He wrote on Instagram, “Welcoming the fierce, the gorgeous and ever charming Disha Patani to the family. Along with Raashii Khanna, who brings her spark and innocence to the role like no other!”

Patani too took to her social media account and wrote, “Super glad to join this action-packed journey! I’m ready for take-off guys, let’s go!” Khanna on the other hand shared a note that read, “I am extremely honoured & excited to announce that I will be joining team Yodha!”

Yodha will be Dharma Productions’ first action franchise. The film will be directed by Sagar Ambre and Pushkar Ojha.

Malhotra, who made his debut with Johar’s  Student of the Year and most recently collaborated with him on the war drama Shershaah, has already started shooting for Yodha. Last month, he had shared pictures from the sets of the movie on the first day of the shoot. The first look of the film was shared last month as well.

Johar also has another upcoming franchise titled Brahmastra, starring Ranbir KapoorAlia BhattAmitabh Bachchan, and others. The film is helmed by Ayan Mukerji and recently it was announced that it will release on Septer 9, 2022.

Meanwhile, Yodha was earlier supposed to star Shahid Kapoor as the male lead, but the actor dropped out of the film due to unknown reasons. Malhotra was then brought on board after the huge success of his last release with Johar. Malhotra also has an upcoming spy-thriller film directed by Shantanu Bagchi titled Mission Majnu with Rashmika Mandanna. Apart from this, he has a comedy film written and directed by Indra Kumar titled Thank God. The film also stars Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh.

Yodha has been scheduled to release in theatres on November 11, 2022.
