Ed Sheeran has quit Twitter following criticism of his Game of Thrones cameo.
*May contain spoilers.*
Singer, musician and ginger-human, Ed Sheeran, appeared in a cameo role in the premiere of Game Of Thrones Season 7. The singer performs a song: “Hands of Gold“, in a brief scene which ends with Arya Stark joining them for a meal.
Apparently, fans of the show believed that Ed Sheeran’s presence in it was jarring, and have made their opinion very clear on Twitter:
Arya Stark: It’s a pretty song.I’ve never heard of it before.

Scroll reports that comments like these, and many more, have pushed Ed Sheeran to quit Twitter. The singer’s account had about 19 million followers, but has now been deleted. This is not the first time that the singer has dropped out of the social media platform. Earlier this month, Ed Sheeran took a break from Twitter following comments about his appearance at the Glastonbury Festival. Telegraph UK says that Sheeran had announced that he would not post anything on Twitter and only interact with fans on Instagram.
