According to a DC report, Dhar had originally planned the film in 2011 with Chitrangda Singh and Prateik Babbar titled Sufi. But things didn’t work out with a 2011 Mid-Day report stating that the project was shelved due to Singh bearing an uncanny resemblance to Babbar’s late mother Smita Patil.
Meanwhile, Fawad Khan, who last featured in Dharma Productions’ Kapoor & Sons, is gearing up for the release of his forthcoming Karan Johar-directed film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil starring Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Anushka Sharma .
