The first look poster of Vijay Sethupathi’s next film Sindhubaadh was released by the makers on January 16, the actor’s birthday.
The poster features Vijay Sethupathi with bruises on his face while a gang of armed young men run towards him. The setting looks like the streets of some South East Asian country, and it is expected that the events in the film might unfold over there.

Directed by SU Arun Kumar who had previously worked with Vijay Sethupathi in films like Pannaiyarum Padminiyum and Sethupathi, the music for the film is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. Cinematography is by Vijay Karthik Kannan, and editing is by Ruben. SN Rajarajan and Shan Sutharsan are the producers.
Earlier on Wednesday, Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy team had released the first-look motion poster of Vijay Sethupathi’s character from the film.

Sethupathi will be playing the role of Raaja Paandi in the film. The actor is seen with long hair and sacred ash all over his body. According to sources, he will play a Tamil-speaking character in the film. Earlier, it was speculated that Vijay Sethupathi will play a Tamil king.
Directed by Surender Reddy, the film will see Telugu star Chiranjeevi portraying the titular role, and revolves around the life of the freedom fighter from Rayalaseema, Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy. The film also has Nayanthara, Tamannaah Bhatia, Amitabh Bachchan in pivotal roles.
Vijay Sethupathi, who was last seen in the Karthik Subbaraj-Rajinikanth film Petta, has Thiagarajan Kumararaja’s Super Deluxe coming up in which he will be playing Shilpa, a trans woman. In Seenu Ramaswamy’s Maamanidhan, the actor plays a politician.
Sethupathi will also be making his debut in the Malayalam film industry with Marconi Mathai in which he will be sharing screen space with veteran Malayalam actor Jayaram.
Sindhubaadh is the actor’s 26th film; his 2018 movie – 96 – co-starring Trisha was among the top ten films featured in every year-end list.
