Actress Gautami Tadimala will not be contesting in the by-elections from RK Nagar constituency. Reports that the actress would take part in the elections have been in circulation for quite some time now.

A spokesperson for the actress denied the claims. “For the last two days, she has been getting calls continuously enquiring about her entering politics. Gautami ma’am is never getting into politics. She feels that she can continue to serve the society even without being in politics.”
The by-election will be conducted on 12 April on the BJP ticket. The BJP is said to have initially offered the chance to run in the RK Nagar constituency to Gautami. A report in DC states that Gautami has turned down the offer.
