Gnayiru Enbathu Kannaga from Kaakum Karangal, the 1965 movie starring SS Rajendran and Vijayakumari, is today’s Song of the Day. Because today is Sunday, and the song puns on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. It describes a rather unique woman whose eyes look like the Sun, but who herself looks like the moon. But her lips, they are so fruity. And they walk together beautifully, whatever that means.

Kaakum Karangal was an unremarkable assembly line family-drama from AVM and AC Tirulokchander; the movie is only remembered today for being actor Sivakumar’s debut and this song. Composed by KV Mahadevan and written by Vaali, the song was so well-received that people (and Wikipedia) attributed it to Kannadasan, a fate that Vaali suffered for much of his career.
