Gopichand-Tamannaah Starrer Seetimaarr May Resume Shooting Soon

Sampath Nandi, director of upcoming Telugu sports drama Seetimaarr – starring Gopichand and Tamannaah Bhatia – took to Twitter to announce that the film’s shooting was stalled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Shooting for Seetimaarr kicked off a few months ago but came to a grinding halt due to the lockdown. According to makers of the film, the shooting requires trained sports professionals in addition to a huge crew, due to which shooting has not resumed after coming to a halt because of the Covid-19 outbreak in India. The producers and director are working out a new schedule.

“Namaste, for all the precious fans of Gopichand garu, fans and followers of Seetimaarr who have been waiting for an update, firstly thanks a ton for your patience and support. As you know, Seetimaarr is a sports film which requires many actors and other trained professionals in the shoot besides a huge crew. So Gopichand garu, the producers and myself have been working on a feasible shooting schedule with safety of our cast and crew being our top priority. We will update you very soon. Can’t wait to get back on Seetimaarr floor with my team. Take care. Stay safe. Much love,” the director wrote on Twitter on Sunday.

The filmmaker has previously directed films such as Gowtham Nanda and Racha

Seetimaarr is written and directed by Sampath Nandi and produced by Srinivasa Chitturi. The film also stars Bhumika Chawla, Dev Gill, Digangana Suryavanshi and Preethi Asrani. Tamannaah and Gopichand play the role of kabbadi coaches and Suryavanshi will be essaying the role of a journalist.

Gopichand was last seen in Chanakya in 2019 while Tamannaah last appeared in a cameo role in Mahesh Babu and Rashmika Mandanna starrer Sarileru Neekevvaru, which released in January. It was recently announced that Tamannaah will reprise Tabu’s role in the untitled Telugu remake of the critically acclaimed Hindi thriller Andhadhun.
