Composer-actor GV Prakash has put out a tweet asking for folk voice suggestions for the upcoming Vetrimaaran directorial Asuran starring Dhanush and Manju Warrier in the lead.
He is looking for a new singer and has welcomed suggestions for first-time combinations. Many comments suggested participants from Super Singer and tagged YouTube stars.

The composer has been regularly tweeting updates about the much-awaited Asuran album. In April, he said that two songs were complete, and there were dance numbers in the film. He later tweeted that he would be reuniting with his regular collaborator, lyricist Egadesi, for a couple of songs. They have worked together for the hit song ‘Otha Sollala’ from Aadukalam.
He recently also updated that four songs were complete, recording was on, and that helps is working on a new slang for the singing style. He told Silverscreen earlier that he will speak more about the film when the audio release approaches.

GV Prakash said that Asuran is among his favourite collaborations so far. He is working with Dhanush eight years after Vetrimaaran’s Aadukulam; soon after, there was a rift between them.
Dhanush stars in a dual role in Asuran, based on Tamil writer Poomani’s novel Vekkai, which is about a son avenging his father’s death. Malayalam actor Manju Warrier is making her Tamil debut with the film. Director Balaji Sakthivel is also part of the cast, along with Ken Karunas, Subramania Siva, Pasupathi, Aadukalam Naren and others.
The final 40-day schedule for the film began on April 29. The shooting is taking place in and around Kovilpatti in Tirunelveli district. Dhanush had shared a poster on Twitter announcing the news.

Asuran is the 71st film for GV Prakash as a music director. For Dhanush and Vetrimaaran, this is their fourth film together after Pollathavan, Aadukalam and Vada Chennai. They are also planning to begin shoot for Vada Chennai 2 after the release of Asuran.
