Actor-Music director GV Prakash Kumar, last seen in Sasi’s Sivappu Manjal Pachai as a bike racer, has started work on a bunch of new films. The composer-actor has signed on the dotted line for Bachelor, helmed by debut director Sathish Selvakumar, a former assistant of director Sasi, and an untitled project by another debut director Mathimaran Pugazhendhi, a former assistant to director Vetrimaran. Besides this, he has films such as 100% Kaadhal, Jail and Kaadhalikka Yaarumillai in various stages of production.
Model Divya Bharathi is said to be playing the female lead in Bachelor, which also stars Bagavathi Perumal and Nakkalites-fame Arun Kumar in significant roles. Theni Eshwar handles the camera and San Lokesh the editing, while GV takes on the mantle of composer too, for this film. Of late, GV has been cherry-picking films for which he lends his music.
Cricketer Harbhajan Singh took to Twitter to release the first look of Bachelor.

Produced by G. Dilli Babu of Axess Film Factory, the movie had its poojai on Thursday, with directors Sasi, Sri Ganesh and Mu. Maran, music director Dhibu Ninan Thomas, and others attending the event. It is said the film will be filmed extensively in Bengaluru, with a few schedules in Chennai and Pollachi too.
“It will be a rural romance drama and GV Prakash will be seen in a completely different role from what he has done so far. In fact, he will going through an image makeover. All that I can say for now is that he plays a guy from Coimbatore who comes to Bengaluru, impressed by the lifestyle of his friends. The film is about how he copes with unexpected events,” Sathish said in a press release.
The untitled project has 96-fame Varsha Bollamma in the lead with Vaagai Chandrasekar playing an important role. Director Gautham Vasudev Menon has been roped in to play the antagonist. The team had its poojai on Thursday at AVM Studios. Producer Kalaippuli S Thanu and directors Vetrimaran, Samuthirakani, Subramaniya Siva, Saravanan and Elan took part.

Incidentally, the new trailer of GV’s upcoming movie 100% Kadhal, co-starring Shalini Pandey, dropped today. The movie is a remake of the Telugu hit 100% Love, starring Naga Chaitanya and Tamannaah Bhatia.
