What will 30-year-old animated Lizzie McGuire (the witty, fun cartoon that ran around the screen saying sage-like things and generally being adorable) look like now? That’s among the first of the many questions we had when we heard that Hilary Duff will reprise her role as the iconic Disney character Lizzie McGuire. (The show ran between 2001 and 2004.)

Duff took to Instagram to announce that she’s coming back.
Lizzy will be back as a 30-year-old living in New York, according to Duff, ‘with a bigger shoe budget’. The series turned Duff into a global teen icon. There was also The Lizze McGuire Movie that made 55 millions dollars worldwide. Most importantly, Duff and her animated self are part of the millennial childhood and teenage experience.
