Actor Hrithik Roshan has shared a video of his meeting with the actors of his upcoming film Super 30. The film co-stars Mrunal Thakur and is directed by Vikas Bahl. It releases on July 12.
Hrithik gave a glimpse of his first meeting with the 30 actors, mostly newcomers, who play the students preparing for IIT exams in a coaching centre in Patna. He said, “When I entered the room, I never imagined I would be standing before such dynamic packets of talent that would synergize their energies with me forever! The first class of Super 30 began with me learning quite a few lessons of incredible spirit!”

A very different side of super 30 class. I really enjoyed my young co actors who are from diverse backgrounds and most of them are facing the camera for the first time.

Hrithik plays the real-life mathematician Anand Kumar, who quit his job as a teacher in a top coaching centre attended by rich students, to start a centre which selects 30 students from backward classes and provides them training for the Joint Entrance Exam, the entrance test to IITs. He provides food, accommodation and books for the duration of the course. The centre became popular in 2008 when the entire batch cleared the JEE exams, and this was repeated in 2009 and 2017.

He recently also shared a post about his ‘super teachers’.
#MySuperTeacher – My Nana who I lovingly call Deda, for the lessons he has taught me at every stage of my life, which I share with my kids now. And Dr Oza, my speech therapist as a child, who taught me to accept my weakness and helped me overcome my fear of stammer. pic.twitter.com/TCw1qW3Bg0

The film stars Pankaj Tripathi and Amit Sadh in important roles. It faced several controversies after a sexual harassment allegation was made against Vikas Bahl by an ex-employee of the production house Phantom Films, co-owned by Vikas Bahl, Vikramaditya Motwane, Anurag Kashyap and Madhu Manten.
The allegation was made in 2015 but it was reported last year during the MeToo movement. Following protests, Hrithik tweeted that he will not work with anyone guilty of sexual harassment and requested Reliance Entertainment, the producers of the film, to take a harsh stand.
The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) at Reliance took up the case and months later issued a clean chit to the director stating they probed the allegations with diligence before clearing all charges, even though the complainant did not appear before the committee despite calls and reminders. The police case against the director, however, is still pending.
The film was certified U by the Censor Board on July 6.
