Varalaxmi Sarathkumar was forced to issue a clarification to counter reports that claimed she had joined the BJP. A photo of the actor with key BJP dignitaries did the rounds on social media, leading many to speculate that she had joined the party.
However, the actor refuted the rumours and said that she had met people from the BJP as part of ‘Sampark Ka Samarthan’ campaign. She said that they talked to her about measures taken for Women’s Safety & other issues in the country.
