Music composer Pritam is going on a break. After handling three grueling projects one after the other, with the last being Jab Harry Met Sejal, the composer took to social media to announce that he would stay away from work for a year and a half. He also promised to return with newer and better projects.
He wrote, “With the release of Jab Harry Met Sejal, the 3 most grueling months of my life come to an end. It’s been exhausting and challenging with 4 films, over 25 songs, over 20 musicals and background music of Jagga Jasoos all happening back to back.”
He also said that it had been an inspiring journey, but wished the releases had been more spread out.
He further thanked everyone for their support and admitted that “no matter how hard, challenging and sleep depriving the process is,” he loves doing it.
“Thank you guys again, will see you in a year or year and a half with some new films,” he signed off.

It has only been eight months since 2017 began, but Pritam has four films to his credit already. Namely, Raabta, Tubelight, Jagga Jasoos, and Jab Harry Met Sejal, even though he had requested that he not be credited for Raabta.

Before Raabta released, he had written, “I had decided a while back to only do solo composer albums and not have an outside song in my album. In Raabta, producers want to recreate an existing song from the music label as part of promotions so I have decided to not continue with the film and requested the producers to take out my name from the film credits and promotions.”
Jab Harry Met Sejal released on August 4, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma. It was directed by Imtiaz Ali.
