Jayam Ravi’s film with director Ahmed, contrary to the earlier reports, will not be a remake of Akshay Kumar’s 2015 film Baby. According to The Times of India, the film is based on an original script.
“My film with Ravi will be based on an original script. I’m currently working on the script and we will start shooting once it is firmed up,” Ahmed tells ToI.
The news of the two collaborating first came out in July last year, following which Ahmed confirmed that while Ravi is on board for his spy-thriller, shooting would only begin after Sundar C’s Sangamithra.

Jayam Ravi’s Tik Tik Tik, in which he plays an astronaut, is slated to release sometime soon. The film’s release was postponed from January 26 and is likely to release sometime next month. Directed by Shakti Sounder Rajan, the film is pegged to be India’s first ever ‘space film’. Cast members include Arjun Nandhakumar, the female lead Nivetha Pethuraj and Ramesh Tilak, who all play astronauts too.
Meanwhile, it is reported that Sangamithra is likely to go on floors in April or May this year. Produced by Thenandal Films, and directed by Sundar C, the film is being made at a cost of about Rs 300 crores, drawing comparisons with Baahubali.
