A planned spy thriller starring Jayam Ravi has been put on hold, as the actor has a prior commitment to shoot for Sundar C’s big-budget period film, Sanghamitra. Director Ahmed (of Manithan fame) tells Silverscreen that his film with Ravi was scheduled to start shooting in September, but may now be pushed to March of next year.
Ahmed said, “We have put the pre-production work on hold for some time as we have decided to begin the shoot only after Ravi’s work on Sanghamitra is over. That was his prior commitment. We might begin the shoot only in March next year, so that we have time for the pre-production work.”
Originally, the project was planned to go on floors from September 5.

The director also said that the film would be a spy thriller, and shot entirely abroad. He said, “I was in a dilemma to simultaneously shoot my film with Jayam Ravi alongside Sanghamitra. But we have to travel abroad, so it cannot be done simultaneously. As he had committed to Sanghamitra earlier, he will finish that and then join my film.”
Jayam Ravi has wrapped up the shoot of the thriller, Tik Tik Tik, directed by Shakti Soundar Rajan, in which he plays astronaut.
