Jyothika has reportedly walked out of Vijay 61. A source close to the unit tells Silverscreen, “Right now, Jyothika’s involvement with the film is very sketchy. She had wanted a few changed to be made to the script and she was not happy with the way her role was written. As this demand did not go down too well with the film’s makers, things have not all been worked out.”
A spokesperson for the actress refused to comment on the reports. Interestingly, the spokesperson also chose not to confirm Jyothika’s association with the project in the first place.

The actress had signed on to play a pivotal role in the film last month. The film, which is currently being shot in Chennai, was to have seen male lead Vijay and Jyothika sharing screenspace after Kushi, Thirumalai.
Directed by Atlee and with a script by KV Vijayendra Prasad, the movie has several portions set against a village backdrop, and is shaping up to be a ‘mass’ entertainer; similar to the films Vijay did in the early 2000’s.
Meanwhile, Kajal Aggarwal and Samantha Ruth Prabhu are still a part of the film. AR Rahman too has confirmed his association with the project that is produced by Sri Thenandal Films.
