Kabadadaari, a Tamil remake of the Kannada film Kavaludaari, is directed by Pradeep Krishnamoorthy and co-stars Nassar, Jaya Prakash, J Sathish Kumar. The movie is bankrolled by Dhananjyan Govind under the production banner Creative Entertainers and Distributors and features Nandita Sweta as the female lead. This is Sibi’s second film with the director after the 2017 film Sathya.
In the movie, Sibi plays the role of a cop for the fourth time after Naaigal Jakkirathai, Jackson Durai, and Walter. Portraying the role of a traffic police, he has an intense look in the poster, with a revolver and a walkie talkie in hand. The poster was released as a birthday gift to the actor titled ‘happy birthday Sibi’.
The final leg of shooting had been interrupted due to the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions, which reportedly set the producers back by Rs 1 crore. The 75-member crew has recently finished shooting in the outskirts of Chennai, while the post-production work is underway. Music is being composed by Simon K King and cinematography has been done by Rasamathi. The story has been written by Hemanth Rao and screenplay adaptations and dialogues have been written by John Mahendran and G Dhananjayan, who has also bankrolled the project.
Suriya will be seen next in Soorarai Pottru, which would be releasing on Amazon Prime on October 30. His 40th film Vaadi Vasal will be directed by Vetri Maran.
