Kajol’s next film Helicopter Eela, directed by Pradeep Sarkar and written by Mitesh Shah and Anand Gandhi (of Ship Of Theseus fame), is due to release on September 14. According to a report on NDTV, the movie will explore the different shades of a mother’s relationship with her son. Kajol plays an aspiring singer who is also a single mother in the film, bankrolled by Ajay Devgn and Jayantilal Gada. The first look poster was released by Ajay Devgn on his Twitter page on Thursday.

The new poster features Riddhi Sen, 19, who won the 2017 National Award for Best Actor for Nagar Kirtan (Kaushik Ganguly’s film about a boy from rural Bengal) trying to run, and someone’s hand (Kajol’s) quite literally pulling the strings from which he dangles like a puppet. The film also stars Neha Dhupia, Tota Roy Chowdry and Harish Verma. The line in the poster, “She’s here… She’s there… She’s everywhere!!!’ gives us a hint about the omnipresent nature of Kajol’s character. The poster also announced the release date.
After the poster was released, Riddhi took to his social media page to share his happiness – “Thank you so much Bookmyshow for the lovely wish. Thank you so much everyone for all your love for our first poster of Helicopter Eela.” Similarly, the actress also shared details of the film on her Twitter page.

Helicopter Eela is Kajol’s next big film after the 2017 Dhanush-starrer VIP2, directed by Soundarya Rajinikanth, where she played an egotistic business magnate who eventually learns to live life too. The film marked her return to the Tamil industry 20 years after her debut in Rajiv Menon’s 1997 musical Minsara Kanavu, where she was cast alongside actors Prabhudheva and Arvind Swami.
More recently, the actress voiced the character of Helen Parr aka Elastigirl in the Hindi version of Incredibles 2.
