Hindi film actor Kartik Aaryan will be seen in the upcoming Hindi film Freddy. Touted as a romantic thriller, the movie will be produced by Ekta Kapoor and will be directed by Shashanka Ghosh. The film will go on floors on August 1.
According to a report by the Indian Express, Aaryan said, “As an actor, I crave to explore different facades of entertainment and with Freddy, I’m venturing into uncharted territory which is both exciting and intriguing in equal measures.”
He also pointed out that this is his first collaboration with Ekta Kapoor. “I look forward to dwelling in the world of Freddy and bring alive this dark romantic thriller. It also marks my first collaboration with a visionary like Ekta Kapoor and creatives forces like Jayu and Shashanka,” the Luka Chuppi actor added.
The movie’s director said, “As a filmmaker, there is a lot to play with the genre, like a thriller. I am more than excited to work with an incredible team on a project as inspiring as Freddy. I am sure that the film is going to be one of the best thrilling cinematic experiences for the audience across the nation.”
Freddy marks the second collaboration between Ghosh and Ekta Kapoor after the 2018 film Veere Di Wedding.

Meanwhile, Kartik Aaryan recently shared the first look of his next film Captain India. Directed by Hansal Mehta, the film will feature Aaryan as a pilot. It is said to be based on one of India’s successful rescue missions from a war-torn country. The project will be produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Harman Baweja.
Aaryan is currently working on Bhool Bhuliayaa 2, Dhamaka, and Sameer Vidwans’ directorial venture. The film was initially titled Satyanarayan Ki Katha but the Vidwans announced that it will be changed to avoid hurting religious sentiments. The now untitled project is expected to go on floors by the end of this year.
