After a brief hiatus, director-actor Karu Pazhaniappan is making a comeback as the male lead in Kallan, a film about a community of pre-agricultural hunters and how the community changed over the years, according to a Times of India report. The film will be directed by newcomer Chandra, who has previously worked with director Ameer in Paruthiveeran, Ram and Katradhu Thamizh.
Karu Pazhaniappan had last portrayed a lead role in his own directorial Mandhira Punnagai (2010). This will be the first time he acts under another director. Kallan’s technical team includes cinematographer MS Prabhu, music director K and lyricist Na Muthukumar.
Director Karu Pazhaniappan is best known for Parthiban Kanavu and Pirivom Santhippom.
