Kaththi has created a box-office record by collecting Rs 23 crores on the first day. Director AR Murugadoss revealed the numbers on Twitter.

The film, despite facing many glitches before its release, has fared well across the country and in the US. The figures are expected to steadily improve this weekend, as there were no Tamil releases this Friday, and not many screens have been allocated to Shahrukh Khan’s Happy New Year.
