Kerala HC Denies Dileep’s Bail Plea

Dileep, Judicial Custody

The Kerala High Court has rejected the bail plea of actor Dileep. He was arrested earlier this month for allegedly plotting the abduction and assault of a popular South Indian actress.

Justice Sunil Thomas said that the investigation in the case is progressing, and the mobile phone, stated by the prosecution as a key evidence in the case, has not yet been recovered. As Dileep is influential, he is likely to try and tamper with the evidence, he added.

Dileep moved the High Court for bail after an Angamaly magisterial court refused to grant him relief and sent him to judicial custody till July 25. The HC reserved its orders on July 20.

In the remand application, police had claimed that Dileep held a grudge against the actress for letting his former wife know about his alleged affairs, and hatched a conspiracy, way back in 2013, to exact revenge.

So far, six persons, including ‘Pulsar’ Suni, have been arrested in connection with the incident.
