Hindi actor Kiara Advani is set to star opposite Telugu actor Ram Charan in the latter’s upcoming 15th film, which is to be directed by filmmaker Shankar.
The makers of the film made the announcement on the occasion of Advani’s birthday on Saturday.
The untitled film, tentatively referred to as RC15, will be produced by Dil Raju and Shirish under Sri Venkateswara Creations banner. It will mark the 50th production venture of Dil Raju and Shankar’s maiden directorial in the Telugu film industry.
Speaking to Silverscreen India, a source close to the film unit, on the condition of anonymity, said, “The pre-production work is going on now. The shooting schedule will depend on various things, including when Ram Charan finishes with SS Rajamouli’s RRR. Once he is available, it will go on floors. It is too early to reveal the title or what genre the film is, as well as the names of the other cast members.”
RC15 is set to be a trilingual film and will be released in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi. It will be Advani’s third Telugu film and second collaboration with Ram Charan. Previously, the actors collaborated on the 2019 Telugu action film Vinaya Vidheya Rama.
Advani, who was last seen in the 2020 Hindi comedy film Indoo Ki Jawani, has also featured in the Telugu political action film Bharat Ane Nenu (2018) alongside Mahesh Babu.
Soon after RC15 was first announced in February, Shankar became embroiled in legal trouble over the sequel to Indian, his 1996 blockbuster. Indian 2’s makers Lyca Productions sought an interim injunction to keep the director from working on any other films before completing the sequel. However, the court dismissed the injunction plea on July 2.
