A sneak peak from Kolaigaran released recently. The film is directed by Andrew Louis of Leelai fame and stars Arjun Sarja and Vijay Antony as the protagonists. Actor and model Ashima Narwal makes her Tamil debut with the film. Nassar and Seetha play supporting roles.
The two-and-a-half minute sneak peak takes us straight from the voice-over of a control room in a city to the scene of a gruesome murder. The video leads us to believe that Vijay Antony is the murderer. Arjun, the police officer investigating the case, arrives at the scene, and, a minute later, a clue gives the murderer away.
The sneak peak suggests that the story is not a good cop versus bad cop film, but rather a chase to find out the murderer and the reason behind the crime. Vijay Antony’s character also reminds us of the recently-released Thimuru Pudichavan, an action film in which he played the police officer who bends the rules.
Kolaigaran is Vijay Antony’s 10th film. The director said in an interview that the story connects the lives of the characters played by Vijay Antony, Arjun and Ashima.

The film went on floors in June last year, and has been entirely shot in Chennai. Arjun Sarja signed on even before beginning work on Irumbu Thirai, the 2018 Vishal-starrer in which he played the antagonist. Later in 2018, he was accused by actor Sruthi Hariharan of touching her inappropriately during the shooting of the film Nibunan, where he played a cop. She filed a case against him, and Arun, in turn, slapped a defamation suit on her.
The music for the film is composed by Simon King, and cinematography is by Mukes.
