Kollywood Actors Reach Out To Chennai Flood Victims

Many Kollywood actors have stepped in to help the flood victims in Chennai. Recently, Sivakarthikeyan and Vikram Prabhu donated Rs 5 lakh each to chief minister J Jayalalitha’s flood relief fund. The payment was made through Nadigar Sangam. Sathyaraj and Sibiraj made a donation of Rs 2.25 lakh for the affected people through the actors’ association.

Earlier, actor Sivakumar and his family, Vishal and Dhanush had donated a sum of Rs 40 lakh to the people affected by the recent floods. Several fan clubs are carrying out relief activities in various parts of the city. Meanwhile, actress Sona Heiden, inspired by the ALS Ice Bucket challenge, has started a Rice Bucket challenge. So far, she has collected over 2000 kg of rice, which will be donated to the flood victims.

Last year, when coastal Andhra Pradesh was hit by a deadly Hudhud cyclone, a number of Kollywood celebrities had donated cash, food and clothes to the victims.
