RJ Balaji seems to have a knack for stirring up trouble through his films. In Kadavul Irukkan Kumaru, Balaji spoofs Lakshmy Ramakrishnan’s talk show – Solvadhellam Unmai, in an extended comic sequence.
The actor-director who takes her TV career very seriously, took to Twitter to slam Balaji.
4 those who spoof #sollvadhellamunmai, compare reviews for ur films & mine #Ammani deprived of commercial success but it fetched me respect

The actress criticised Balaji for mocking her ‘sincere efforts’.
Sad to see people who have power to make a difference use magic of cinema for cheap spoof & mocking others’ sincere efforts @RJ_Balaji

.@RJ_Balaji if i mock you saying you played it out and became a hero during #chennaifloods for the sake of publicity, how will you feel?
— Lakshmy Ramakrishnan (@LakshmyRamki) November 20, 2016
. @RJ_Balaji i wont do that! in fact , one of the heroes in my next is inspired by the real hero in you! I respect other people’s efforts.

Producer Dhananjayan, who has in the recent past been mocked by RJ Balaji, offered his support to Lakshmy.
Yes Sir….and thank you for expressing your support:) https://t.co/V4fEGsTgNK

Lakshmy also criticised filmmakers who portray their lead actors as alcohol addled youth with arrears and a tendency to stalk girls.
Some film makers & actors keep giving wrong role models on screen & make sure Tamil youth dont grow beyond bottle, arrears & girls!

She also offered KIK hero GV Prakash the lead role in her next film.
I can give a super role for @gvprakash one with substance! in my next…it will do you good & do some good for youth who follow you, ready?
— Lakshmy Ramakrishnan (@LakshmyRamki) November 20, 2016
When a fan of the actress said that GV Prakash would not be a good fit for her brand of cinema, Lakshmy said that it would in fact be a ‘win-win’ situation.
I need someone like him to bring audience to theatres! Commercial success for me & respectful film for him:) It will be win win situation… https://t.co/H32f6259Zp

RJ Balaji and GV Prakash Kumar are yet to respond to Lakshmy.
Kadavul Irukkan Kumaru was slammed on social media for its sexist, double entendre jokes and regressive approach to women. Directed by Rajesh of Oru Kal Oru Kannadi fame, the film has failed to draw in crowds in its opening weekend.
In contrast, Lakshmy Ramakrishnan’s latest release Ammani opened to positive reviews and is bringing the filmmaker a lot of acclaim.
