Lingusamy Explains Why He Filed A Complaint Against STR

Director Lingusamy has filed a complaint against STR with the Producer’s Council. The director alleged that STR took Rs. 1 crore as advance payment for a film which never happened, and hasn’t yet returned the money. Speaking to Silverscreen, Lingusamy said: “Some time ago, I had approached Simbu for a film. As token payment I gave him Rs. 1 crore to start the discussion process. The film didn’t materialise. Subsequently, when I asked him for the money, he did not pay it back. He simply instructed me to begin work on the project. At this point, I neither have the time nor the inclination to do a film with him. This is why I have approached the Producer’s Council.”

Thanu, President of the TFPC has acknowledged the complaint and said that they would begin investigations soon. “Producer’s Council gets many cases like this. It is our duty to mediate in a fair manner to both parties involved. We will do the same in this case. This is a misunderstanding that can be cleared up.”

Actor-director T Rajendar, who is also STR’s father, confirmed that both parties had begun discussing the issue.

STR is currently working on Adhik Ravi’s AAA while N Lingusamy will be directing Allu Arjun next.
