Lucifer is written by Murali Gopy, son of yesteryear National Award-winning actor Gopi. The movie has been making news since it was announced. “The hype surrounding the movie is because of the fact that a leading actor is directing another,” Mohanlal had said in an interview.

Late director Rajesh Pillai was originally supposed to direct the film. Prithviraj took over as the director after the untimely demise of Rajesh Pillai. Mohanlal reportedly told Times of India that there was immense pressure on Prithviraj to come up with a good film, and that he was dedicated to the project.

Meanwhile, a screenshot detailing Mohanlal’s introduction scene, believed to part of the script, began doing the rounds on social media last week. Following this, Prithviraj requested fans to stop spreading fake news.

Under the hashtag ‘Stop Lucifer Rumours’, Prithviraj Sukumaran shared a screenshot of the Facebook post of an anonymous user who detailed the scene. The screenshot, supported by bits of information already out on promotional posters, revealed that the protagonist commits a murder in the rain and looks at the person one last time before taking off in his black Ambassador car with the nameplate 666.

Prithviraj shared screenwriter Murali Gopy’s Facebook post calling these ‘never-ending rumours.’
