The Madras high Court has ruled in favor of Radha Ravi in his case against the Nadigar Sangam’s decision to suspend him, along with actors Sarath Kumar and Vaagai Chandrasekhar. The decision came after the present administration of the Nadigar Sangam made allegations agaisnt the actors for fraud and financial discrepancies in their tenure as the organization’s office bearers.
Actor Sarath Kumar responded to his suspension saying he would contest the Sangam’s decision in the court. “They have accused me of misfeasance of Nadigar Sangam funds. But they don’t have any proof to back these allegations. I’ll fight their decision to suspend me, in court,” he said. Police complaints were also filed against the actors by the Nadigar Sangam. Actor Vaagai Chandrasekhar then stated that he had met the Commissioner of Police and explained his stand in the issue, and that he is ready to face any legal action.

Meanwhile, the General Body Meeting of the Sangam, that usually takes place in September is reportedly being postponed. The announcement of the meeting and invites are given away 21 days prior to the meeting so that members from all cities can take part in it. But this has not happened so far. Sarath Kumar had also alleged that the suspension took place just because the new administration did not want the actors in question to attend the General Body meeting.
The Nadigar Sangam’s elections took place last year amidst a lot of mud slinging and accusations amongst the two groups. Things do not seem to be any better, as the friction among the two parties seem to continue.
