The title of actor Vikram’s 60th film is Mahaan, the makers of the film announced while revealing the first look poster of the film on social media on Friday.
The film, which was earlier tentatively titled Chiyaan 60, is written and directed by filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj, and marks Subbaraj’s first collaboration with the actor. Mahaan is backed by producer Lalit Kumar under the 7 Screen Studio banner. The makers also released a 65-second title reveal video on Friday.
In Mahaan, Vikram will also share the screen space for the first time with his son and actor Dhruv Vikram, who was last seen in Varmaa (2020) the Tamil remake of the hit Telugu film Arjun Reddy. Other cast members include actors Simran, and Bobby Simha, in important roles.
While initially, music composer Anirudh Ravichander was brought on board for the film, he was later replaced by Santhosh Narayanan. In his tweet, Subbaraj thanked Ravichander for his understanding and support. Santhosh Narayanan is a frequent collaborator with Karthik, with whom the filmmaker is entering seventh collaboration, including the recently released anthology Navarasa.
Mahaan was announced in June 2020 and the film went on floors in March. On Sunday, Karthik announced that the team has wrapped up the shooting and released a poster of Mahaan. The makers have not yet mentioned the release date.

Meanwhile, Vikram who was last seen in the 2019 action thriller film Kadaram Kondan, also has an upcoming film with director Ajay Gnanamuthu titled Cobra. The film, will be backed by Lalit Kumar’s banner, and will also feature Srinidhi Shetty and Roshan Mathew. Vikram is also part of multi-starrer historical action drama Ponniyin Selvan helmed by Mani Ratnam, where he will be essaying the role of Chola prince Aditha Karikalan. On the other hand, Dhruv is has announced that he will collaborate with filmmaker Mari Selvaraj, for an upcoming Tamil film that will be produced by filmmaker Pa Ranjith‘s Neelam Productions.
