Mahesh Babu’s 25th film Maharshi, which was earlier scheduled to release on April 25, will now release on May 9. This is the third time the movie has shifted release dates.
Talking about the factors that went into the decision, producer Dil Raju said “The shoot for the talkie portion will be completed this month. Two songs and couple of montage sequences are yet to be shot. The montages will be filmed in Abu Dhabi. The reason for the change in date is because we don’t want to compromise on quality. Director Vamshi Paidipally has written the best script in his career and he needs enough time to achieve what he has envisioned. Also by the first week of May, the parliamentary election process will be completed,” says a report.
Another issue that was being discussed is that the actor’s May releases have never fared well. This was a major concern for fans too. And, Dil Raju addressed this. “Our film is co-produced by Ashwini Dutt, whose biggest hit Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari was released on May 9. Many of our productions too were released in the month of May and became hits.”
Mahesh Babu reportedly essays five roles with different looks in the film. Pooja Hegde and Allari Naresh also star in the film, which has veteran actor Jayapradha in a pivotal role. The film is directed by Vamshi Paidipally of Oopiri fame, and produced by Dil Raju under Sri Venkateswara Creations, Vyjayanthi Cinemas and PVP Cinemas. KU Mohanan handles cinematography, and Devi Sri Prasad is the music composer.
Mahesh Babu also has a film with Arjun Reddy fame Sandeep Vanga. It is speculated that the actor will soon join hands with Boyapati Sreenu, who recently directed Vineya Vidheya Rama. He also has a project with SS Rajamouli, who is currently shooting RRR with Ram Charan and Jr NTR. A couple of days ago, the actor announced on Twitter that his film with Sukumar was being dropped due to “creative differences”.
Due to creative differences, my film with Sukumar is not happening. I wish him all the best on the announcement of his new project. Respect always for a film maker par exellence. 1 Nenokkadine will remain as a cult classic. Enjoyed every moment working on that film.
