The Mahesh Babu-starrer Maharshi is all set to hit screens on April 25. Shoot for the film resumed in January after the actor returned from his New Year vacation in Dubai with family.

Following rumours about the project getting postponed to May or June, the makers issued a statement clarifying that the film was on track, and will release on April 25. Shoot is currently in its final stages, and except for two songs the film will be complete by March 15.

It was reported earlier that Maharshi was scheduled for a Sankranthi release, but due to some legal issues, release was postponed to April 9 for the Ugadi weekend. Some of the actor’s biggest hits like Pokiri and Bharat Ane Nenu also released during Ugadi.

Maharshi was filmed at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad, where a village set was built for some important portions. It is said that the team will soon move to Pollachi, near Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu where other scenes will be shot.

Mahesh Babu reportedly essays five roles with different looks in the film. Pooja Hegde and Allari Naresh also star in the lead, with veteran actor Jaya Pradha in a pivotal role. The film is directed by Vamshi Paidipally of Oopiri fame, and produced by Dil Raju under Sri Venkateswara Creations, Vyjayanthi Cinemas and PVP Cinemas.
